A home for all of us.
e-Khaya Sonke exists to open up property ownership to South Africans who have been shut out of it — by building on something we already do well: saving and owning together.
What the name means
Why we're building this
For most South Africans, owning property has meant one thing: saving for years, then taking on a large bond. Many never get there, and miss out on one of the most reliable ways families build wealth.
Meanwhile, millions of us already belong to stokvels — proof that when people pool their money and trust each other, they can achieve things none could alone.
e-Khaya Sonke brings those two ideas together. By dividing real properties into shares, anyone can start owning property with a small amount, and grow from there.
e-Khaya Sonke was founded in Cape Town by Muma Khumalo, building on a business plan first written in 2020.
